Obituary of McKenzie Donald Holliday

Don passed away after a 13 year battle with Dementia, with family by his side, at Wildwood Nursing Home on May 8, 2019.Survived by his wife Sue (White) of 52 years, son Shawn McKenzie and Debra of Harrow, Ont. and daughter Sheila Denise LeBlanc and Jeff of St. Marys. Proud Papa Don of 7 grandchildren Cameron and Katelyn of Harrow, Ont., Krystal Lee, Matthew, Lindsay, Rosie and Christie of St. Marys. Also remembered by many St. Marys children associated with Sue’s Tiny Tots Day Care Centre. Never forgotten by brothers Richard, Ken of Stratford, Murray of Kingston Ont. and their spouses, many friends and fellow Contractors and co-workers of Holliday General Contracting Inc. As per Don’s wishes, he donated his brain and spinal cord to Parkwood Hospital for Alzheimers Dementia research in hope for a cure of this dreadful disease followed by cremation.Visitation will be held at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Friday, May 24, from 7 - 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at COMMUNITY HALL AT THE ST. MARYS PYRAMID RECREATION CENTRE, 317 James St. S., St. Marys, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery at a later date.Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Perth County.
