Obituary of Alice Vera Knight

Alice “Betty” Vera Knight (Kirk) passed away peacefully at her St. Marys home on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in her 101st year with family at her bedside.Betty was born in 1920 in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, England and emigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband and children. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband George (1981), siblings Doris (1992), John (1995), and Ted (2016). Betty is survived by her daughter Renee and sons John (Linda), James (Diana), grandchildren Narissa (Drew), Melanie (Dom), Phillip and Christopher (Dea), and greatgrandchildren Devin, Sam, Olivier and Oliana. Betty is also survived in England by her brother Pete (Ann), sister-in-law Jean Kirk, and many nieces and nephews.Betty was a St. Marys resident for 31 years. She made many friends and enjoyed quilting, swimming and other activities at the St. Marys Friendship Centre.The family wishes to thank neighbours Mary, Diana, Elaine and Neil for their valued friendship and support in recent years, and also Dr. Gatfield for his compassionate care. To the Care Partners and staff at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital, thank you for your dedication and care. Cremation has taken place. Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys and Area Mobility Bus, St. Marys Friendship Centre or the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation.
