I am very saddened to hear the news of Helen's passing and am sending me deepest condolences to the Cowdrey family.
I first met Helen over twenty-five years ago. I had met Patricia at college and we became fast friends. My first introduction to Mama Cowdrey, which is what I affectionally called her, was at the farm for dinner one day. I remember walking into the small kitchen (before the renovation) and being in awe that she put together such a big spread in such a small space. And boy did it smell good!!
Over the years I got to know Helen quite well and we certainly appreciated our shared sense of humour. She was very witty and found humour in everything. Often if Patricia and I were joking around in front of her she would just shake her head and say "you two girls are trouble" like she didn't approve but I know she got a kick out of it. I would say that it was Patricia that was the bad influence and Helen would say "I know it!"
I was happy to see get to see Helen last May during a trip to Ontario. She didn't recognize at first because I had a mask on, but I pulled it down quickly while at a distance and her face lit up with a big smile. Mama Cowdrey had a way of making me feel welcome and loved, and I will miss her dearly. I will cherish the many fond memories that I have of her and am sending loving support to the family during this difficult time

I have so many fond memories of Helen. Lloyd and her would have lots of laughs at Sauble Beach, when visiting my parents every summer. How my parents would look forward to their visit.
They would also visit around Thanksgiving, when they would go to the Thornbury area to purchase apples. This was always around their anniversary.
In later years, it was always a joy having Patricia and Helen visit my sister and I in Owen Sound.
Helen was a caring, thoughtful, fun loving lady. She had a wonderful laugh and was so proud of her family.
From the video posted, I can see the wonderful memories made throughout this lifetime and can also see the strong love which surrounded Helen.
Sending my deepest sympathy to Patricia, Bob and family, Fred, Beth and family and Mildred.

To the Cowdrey Families...
What a pleasure to have know Helen in our lives.
I, Cynthia, had know Helen all of my life, being a member of Woodham United, singing in the choir, a neighbour, working with her at Campbell Soup for many years. Her smile, witty comments and all round good nature made for fun times in the workplace and beyond. Memories abound as I hope they will bring you peace, comfort and a smile in the days ahead.
I, Gary, have know Helen since I have been involved in the Woodham group. She was always quick with a remark and there was always time for a chat and a good laugh. Seeing her at Kingsway as one of "the girls", I could always get a smile out of her and could often see that twinkle in her eye. May she find her comfort and a peaceful rest in her next journey..
Thinking of you all at this time.
