Nancy first befriended me a few years ago when I began at the United Church. She was welcoming and always free to share a story. A passionate woman, she was always encouraging exclusivity in our community. She will be greatly missed by many.

I have so many memories of Nancy, but one memory that comes to mind is when I attended her story-telling workshop in St. Marys. She taught us how to tell stories out loud, which was something I never thought I could do. Nancy's gentle guidance encouraged me to do something new and different--and by the end of the workshop, I was able to tell a folk tale without stumbling over the words. I felt more confident in Nancy's presence because I knew that she would never judge or criticize. I feel that Nancy so often embodied unconditional love, something that is so much needed in today's world. I feel that Nancy taught us through her being, through her peaceful presence. We will all miss her presence here in St. Marys, but I know that is especially true for Louis and their many friends and family members. My thoughts are with you all at this time.

I am sorry to hear this sad news. I always enjoyed my camaraderie with Nancy when we were together at your place. That's life isn't it. Love and camaraderie which is lost when we lose a friend. Thinking of your loss with great sadness.

Such a great loss for Nancy's very large family. My family enjoyed many Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers in attendance with Nancy at her step daughter's place in Guelph. She was very kind with my mother in particular so I appreciate and will treasure all of those precious moments they spent together chatting and simply being.
With love and hugs and most importantly kind memories,
Lisa Boynton Carpenter

To the family of Nancy , so sorry for your loss .
I will miss seeing her in our neighbourhood , I enjoyed the kale she would have planted by her walkway with a sign saying “ help yourself “ . Very kind . This year it was swamp milkweed and seeds from her Marigolds . Always thoughtful !
Rest in Peace Nancy .

To Louis, Nancy's family and friends:
May your loving memories of time spent with Nancy comfort you during this difficult time. Nancy was a creative force of energy in St. Marys. I enjoyed working with her during the Storytelling Festivals, and helping out with the Grandmothers for Africa yarn sales. I and so many others in St. Marys will miss her so much! We will remember!

You will be missed my friend. We've enjoyed being your neighbour all these years. You were always so kind and generous, sharing your baking with us and the rhubarb in your garden. I'll miss our visits to the grocery store on Tuesdays, where you would always meet people you knew and stop and have a visit with them. I'll never forget you.
