My wife & I offer our sincere condolences to Irene’s family. I remember her well from my childhood & what good friends she & her late husband Jack were to my parents, Ron & Shirley Ferguson. Living outside the province, It was a big relief to have such a sweet and knowledgeable lady officiate at our wedding back in 1995. From that point on, we exchanged Christmas cards, staying connected with each others lives. We will remember Irene for her strong faith, calm demeanour & her kindness to all.

Dear Richardson Family... I was saddened to read of Irene's passing but grateful that she lived a long and full life. I always enjoyed visiting with Irene over the years when our paths crossed. One vivid memory was at our daughters wedding when Irene and Pastor Paul Vollick officiated. Paul was well over 6 feet tall plus and here is Irene, petite in stature but grand in presence. She always did an amazing job, calm, cool and collected. Rest in peace faithful servant...In sympathy Don and Heather Benner

We got to know your mom and dad when they first began attending Granton United Church. Over the years we were at many church and social events together and always valued her welcoming smile and warm humor. In our more recent visits, I enjoyed hearing stories of her past and also her strong faith. I feel blessed to have had her as a friend. She will be sadly missed.
With sincere condolences.

As I reflect back on Irene's presence in my life, I feel a deep sense of loss at her passing. She boarded with my parents, Frank and Carmel Ulrick, when she was teaching in the one room rural school across from our farm. She and Mom developed a close friendship that lasted for decades and grew to include their husbands and families .In fact, I was named Ruth Irene in tribute. I remember trips to the Richardson farm to stay with Irene and Jack, once on my own, as a teenager. Later when I attended Western University, Irene helped me find an apartment in London and made me feel welcome in their home anytime. I still make one of Irene's recipes regularly, the Chocolate Upside Down Cake, because it was such a hit with my husband and children. Visits over the years were always a joy. My sincere condolences to all the family. Hers was a life well lived and cherished by all who knew her.
Love to all,
Ruth (Ulrick) Holtz

Your mother was a true friend to my mother Dorothy Dow during Irene's time at Hibbert United Church. She had a wry sense of humor and wit but her compassion and understanding of life in general was outstanding. We extend our sympathy's as you celebrate a life well lived.

My mother, Carmel Ulrick, and Irene were dear friends and kindred spirits. Their lives were almost mirror images. Both teachers with a passion for education, both farm wives who worked in harmony with their husbands building family farms, while raising their families. Both women had a deep faith and devotion to their respective churches and were dedicated to supporting their own families and their community. Irene and Jack and the Richardson family were treasured friends of my family of origin, the Ulrick family, and my Barrett family here on Oceanbrae Farms, PEI. Our family sends deep condolences at this time of sorrow. Both Carmel and Irene lived past their 90th birthday, their legacy of love will abide in all who knew them, and these great friends will once more be together.

My sympathy to the Richardson family. Irene was such a wonderful minister to us at Brown's Church and through her ministry became a valued friend. Beside the church her other priority was her family and she always went the extra mile for them - baking special treats for them and hosting many delicious meals. She will be dearly missed by you all.

We were members of the former Emmanuel United Church in Zurich where we had the privilege of having Irene as our minister. Her children’s stories were wonderful. We all loved Irene!!
I recall her last morning with us. Some of us in the choir started crying when she came into the choir room before the service and we had tears the remainder of the morning. We were so sad to think we would not share Sunday mornings with Irene again..
Irene had an amazing way of connecting with everyone. Heaven has gained another angel!
We extend sincere sympathy to all of her family. How fortunate you were to have her in your lives. Treasure your memories. Doug, Sharon and Sarah Kyle
