Obituary of James Bruce McArthur

Jim passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday April 18, 2018.Born on September 25, 1940 on the family farm at R.R.# 2, Lakeside (Kintore) ON. Son of the late Bruce and Sophie (Sutherland) McArthur.Beloved husband of the late Patricia McLeod McArthur and Mary Innes Weir McArthur. Loving father of Sonya (Brent) Rambie. Sandra (Dean) Drader and Susan (Barry) Peachment all of Calgary AB. Grandfather of Kate (Dustin), Tyler (Megan), Brittney (Jamie), Jordan (Amanda) and Kyle (Alex). Great Grandpa of Jacob and Austin. Survived by his sister Shirley (Doug) Garner of Embro and his nieces and nephews.Jim will be remembered by Mary’s family, Patricia, Sheila, Beverly (Dan) and Mark and her granddaughters Nicole (Vince) and Hannah as well as the McLeod and Innes families and long time friends from both Ontario and Alberta.Jim and his family moved from the farm to Woodstock in 1968 and then Calgary AB in 1977. He and Mary retired from Strathmore AB to St Marys ON. in 2006.As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to The Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice Project, St Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation, St Marys United Church or the charity of your choice and will be appreciated by the family.A special thank you to Dr. Charles Gatfield and his staff, as well as the nursing staff of the VON (especially Yvonne and Andrea), the London Regional Cancer Centre and the Southwest LHIN.Cremation has taken place.
