We have many very special memories of time spent with Mongo from ball games, swims in the pool, meals shared (even if it was squirrel stew) & walks by, looking at his birds & having a chat. He was one of the kindest, most respectful guys, always there to help with a smile on his face. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten. Sending love & prayers at this very difficult time. He was such a great guy who loved his family & had lots of fun with his friends & so helpful & kind to anyone he met. I will always remember my fun times @ the Blackman house, as a child, where Blackie would tease & torment Lisa & I, by sitting on us & making us scream & giggle, to throwing us in the pool! He always made everyone feel good, in his own unique & quiet way. Rest In Peace, Blackie! You will be greatly missed.

We are surprised and so very sorry to hear of 'Blackie's' death. He was such a 'constant' at the arena during our many years of hockey, ringette and fundraising events. We were always able to rely on him to do what was needed done in the moment - without complaint - whether we were asking as a volunteer parent, a Kinette, a player (my kids) or simply a bystander. We're sad for your loss. Betty Finnie and family

Sue Werden posted a condolence
Dear Aunt Marlene, Jenny, Lisa, Matt and Katherine, I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Jeff’s passing. My heart aches for all of you at this sad time. I will always remember Jeff with fond memories and many good times when we were much younger......swimming at the pool and his cannonballs, learning how to shoot a pellet gun, and my first experience listening to a Richard Pryor record of his. Jeff was a gentle giant and took good care of his friends and family. When I had those parties at my house in those younger days, Blackie sat posted at the front door. He was our bouncer and never let things get to out of hand. He made sure I got home safely a few times. The last time I remember seeing Jeff was a number of years ago but we talked just like we saw each other yesterday. I will never forget his kindness and his good humour. Love and hugs to all of you. Sue Werden
