Obituary of Aveleigh Cathcart

Aveleigh Cathcart (nee Kneitl), passed away peacefully at Jessica’s House Hospice in Exeter, Ontario, March 24, 2023 in her 90^th year.  

Aveleigh was the beloved wife of Robert for 65 years. Aveleigh is survived by her children David (Lynn) and Jean Byrnes, grandchildren Nicole (Josh) Ritter, Michelle (Johnnie) Stribbell, Nathan (Natalie) Byrnes, John (Nicole) Cathcart, Ryan (Sarah) Byrnes, Laurel (Tomislav) Gavran, Logan (Riley) Byrnes, and Graham Byrnes. Aveleigh was a proud Great Nana to 7 great-grandchildren. Survived also by brother John (Marilyn) Kneitl of Rockwood, Ontario.

Aveleigh was born in Stratford and raised her family in Stoney Creek, retiring in St. Marys. She was a life long member of IODE and the Church of the Redeemer in Stoney Creek.

Cremation has taken place. An entombment of ashes at the Avondale Cemetery in Stratford, Ontario will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sarah Donaldson, the Nurses of Care Partners, and the professional staff at Jessica’s House Hospice for all the care and support shown to Bob, Ave and family.
