Beloved wife of Gijs de Wit, who she married on January 16, 1976. Cherished mom of Remco and Becky (Lunn), Tjeerd and Annette (Roelands), Joris and Kelly (Mulder), and Sjoerd and Carly (Schieckoff). Proud Oma of Willem, Tys, Styn and Nelleke, Lucas, Alyssa, Stefan and Eric, Romy, Ivo and Niels, Bram, Natalie and Arie.
She is survived by her sisters Corrie (Wim), Tonnie (Reinier), Willie (Wim) and Ans (Hans), and brothers Anton (Annie) and Wim (Anneke), and by her brothers in law Toon (Vera), Wim (Lidie) and Wynand, and sisters in law Margreet (Kees) and Agnes. She was predeceased by father and mother in law Wynand and Agnes de Wit, and brother in law Willem.
Ria was born in Wijk by Duurstede, the Netherlands, on November 26, 1951, daughter of the late Wim and Annie Miltenburg (Verkley). After farming in Schalkwijk, the Netherlands, her and Gijs immigrated to Canada in 1991. They settled on a dairy farm near St. Paul's, where they lived and worked, until moving to St. Marys in 2021. She enjoyed the simpler things in life, a home cooked meal, helping on the farm, a neat and tidy house, and her boys close by. She never turned down a chance to spend time with her grandkids. She played volleyball for many years, and was a member of the CWL at Holy Name of Mary, St, Marys.
She will be fondly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
