Sad news to read this week! Fid was my first hockey coach along with Dutch Moses way back in 1961. Great fellows to play for. Fid never forgot his players and I like many used to get gas at his station or later run into him at the arena. Always a good conversation whenever we met. He is and will be missed!

Fid played on very important role for young drivers my age: 2 bucks worth of gas with a great smile. Important stop on your way east of Town to parts unknown, usually a gravel path.
Later the Eedy family got to know Fid even more when ‘Patsy’ came to work for us at the Journal-Argus. With the excellent work of Pat in our front office, Fid was always in the picture. A fine gentleman who could teach a lesson on community involvement.
