Obituary of Barry Smith

With family by his side, Barry passed away on January 24, 2022, at Victoria Hospital, London, in his 78th year.

Left to mourn are his loving wife Della, and dear mother Coreen of Wildwood Care Centre. Cherished dad of Dwain (Nancy) Smith, and Tammy Lee (Dave). Also sorely missed by mother-in-law Marina Carroll, and in-laws Clarence (Maureen) Carroll, Alice (Glenn) Penney, Bern (Joann) Carroll, Dave (Sharon) Carroll, Ruth (Roy) Parsons, Madonna (Rob) Manuel, Marg (Ed) Manuel, Trish (Cordell) Hicks, all of NL, Linda Coddington of St. Marys, and Joe (Toni) of Stratford.
Barry’s grandkids were his absolute treasure. Grampie loved spending time with Brittany (Kevin) Bilyea, Mike (Whitney) Smith, Zac (Cass) Smith, Chadder Horton (Stephanie), Tanner Horton (Victoria), and Cierra Horton. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Barry was predeceased by his dad Ralph, sister Carlene, brothers-in-law Edwin Austin, Don Touzel, Nelson Coddington, father-in-law John Carroll, and best friend George Larmer.

Barry was a long time, devoted manager at Murphy Bus Lines. He worked for Murphy’s for 56 years.

Barry loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, travelling, and golfing. Although he moved from the farm, he spent much time enjoying farm life with his family.

Barry enjoyed many good times with his neighbours at Maple Lane Park and will be very much missed by friend Sonja Larmer.

Special thanks to Dr. Gatfield of St. Marys and the trauma team at Victoria Hospital for the exceptional care.
