Obituary of John Stephen Forman

Unexpectedly, while on vacation in Kissimmee, Florida, John Forman passed away at the age of 76 with his sons at his side on November 25th,2021.

John lived most of his life in the close-knit hamlet of St. Pauls, ON, where he raised his family. Recently he moved to Maple Lane Park in St. Marys to be close to and enjoy the warmth of family and friends. His new community welcomed and embraced John into his new surroundings and invited him to gather for social time and outings.

John was the son of Lloyd and Maureen and was born in Stratford on March 25, 1945.

John cherished family time surrounded by the love of his three sons and their families. John was a devoted father, cherished grandpa and adored great grandfather and he embraced every opportunity to enjoy a visit.

John is survived by his three sons, Steve (Leslie), Brad (Jenn), and Jeff (Marsha). Grandchildren Derek (Jill), Stephanie (Marc) and Alexandria (Connor), Samantha, Nick and Ben and their heavenly angel Charlie. Great grandchildren Joleen, Addilyn and Scarlett. John is survived by his mom Maureen, his brother Clare (Marlene), Randy (Linda) and Lyn (Karen) and sister Sylvia (Dave) as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The McLean family of St. Marys will always hold a special spot in their hearts for John. Not only was he family, but he was also a cherished friend.

Working on the family farm instilled hard working values in John from a very young age. This work ethic continued throughout his lifetime making him a dedicated, hardworking, and trusted employee. After finishing High School, John began his career at Forman Tank and Welding and then accepted a position with McLean Taylor Construction Limited. Retirement at McLean Taylor did not signify the end of John’s working career as he started his own business, Forman Excavating. John took great comfort in working and wholeheartedly believed that you lived to work not that you worked to live. This was just the type of person he was.

The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to John. He loved a quiet evening tinkering in his garage, going to car shows with his 1965 Ford Galaxie and his daily interactions with familiar faces at the local coffee shops. John had a warm welcoming smile for everyone that he met. This personality drew people to him, enjoying his company. John’s quiet demeanour, kind and caring attitude and infectious smile warmed your heart and immediately made you feel comfortable in his presence. John will be missed deeply by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of crossing his path through his life journey.

A private family celebration will take place at his grave site on Dec 18th.
