Obituary of Catherine Aitcheson

Catherine Elizabeth Aitcheson, age 92, resident of Kingsway Lodge in St.Marys passed away on October 10, 2019.Born in St.Marys on November 21, 1926, a daughter of the late James and Vera (Brine) Pringle. Predeceased by her beloved husband, David on May 12, 1995. Kay kept busy being a homemaker and helper with the work on the farm in Downie Township. She was a former member of the Avonton Presbyterian Church and the St.Pauls Women's Institute. She is lovingly remembered by her four children, George and wife Tarry of London, Jim and wife Lori of St. Pauls, Murray and wife Nelly of London , Grace and husband Terry of Heidelberg . She is forever in the hearts and spirit of her eight grandchildren, Conrad and wife Kate, Shelby, Kelly and husband Justin, Tracey and husband Jared, Gregory and wife Lisa, Nikki, Shakira and Ciara and eight great-grandchildren. Kay is survived by one brother-in-law Robert Holmes of Stratford.She was predeceased by sisters Jean and husband George Mitchell, Margaret and husband Ralph Dawe . Also predeceased by brothers and sisters in - law, Allan and Ella Aitcheson, Robert and wives Gloria and Marion Aitcheson, Evelyn and Glenn Monteith, Bonnie and Calvin Innes, Charlotte and Almer Meadows and Eleanor Holmes. Kay was also a proud descendant of James Brine of the Tolpuddle Martyrs.We wish to thank the staff at Kingsway Lodge for their compassion and care in her final days.As per her wish, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life to be held on Nov. 15, 2019 from 1 to 4 pm at the Downie Optimist Hall in St. Pauls.In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the St. Marys & Area Mobility Bus or the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation.
