Obituary of Alma Jean Dietrich nee Cooper
Alma Dietrich, Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother and Partner, passed away on July 12, 2017, surrounded by her family. Alma was proud of what she accomplished in her 93 years.She was predeceased by her two husbands, Albert Pat Gregory and John Dietrich. She is survived by her 5 sons, 2 daughters, 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren: Murray and Karen Gregory, Tracy and Kevin: Glen and Ruth Ann Gregory, Sheri and Mark: Raymond and Barbara Gregory: Douglas and Colleen Gregory, Brian and Michelle: Rosemary and Lloyd Davis, Gregory and Myles: Steven and Kathy Gregory, Ryan, Jessica and Claire: Sandra Gregory. Alma was step-mother and step Grandmother to the families of Marilyn, Jack (predeceased) Terry, Murray (predeceased), Joan, and Joyce. Alma was predeceased by her parents Melville and Lillian Cooper and her sister Edna (Facey) Wiseman.Alma was born and raised on the 6th line of West Nissouri twp. She thrived and loved working on the farms of her father and then her husbands’ Pat and John. She was a long-time member of the United Church, Young Peoples group, as well as the United Church women. She was a great supporter of the Women’s Institute. She lives on in the voices of her children and in the memories of her family and friends. St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Friday, July 14, from 6 – 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Rev. Thomas Dunbar officiating.Interment in Lakeside Cemetery on the Hill. Reception following the burial in the Community Hall at the St. Marys Pyramid & Recreation Centre, 317 James St. East, St. Marys.Memorial donations may be made to Main Street United Church in Mitchell or to a charity of choice.
