Jennifer Lynn posted a condolence
Hello Cathy and Linda (and to all of Peter's family), It was such an honour to be the recreationist when I met Peter and Gerry at their seniors' residence. Peter's paintings were lovely, and it was with great fun and joy to pretend-fight over who is going to take a certain painting home! When we set up Peter's paintings for display at the Two Artists' Gallery room, they stayed up for quite a while on display. Many residents' relatives were brought into the room to show off the artwork and recall the day of our special grand opening. Peter was a gentle man; it felt 'home' to be around him. Thank you, Peter and Gerry, for letting me know if only a bit of you. Warmest wishes to everyone in their family. With fond memories, Jennifer Lynn

I would like to express my sympathies. I recall his hand expressing sympathy on Hugh's passing as we left the London cathedral, and I remember him driving Hugh and I around a few years ago to show us Burlington and Hamilton, and I remember trips of the Clarkes and Mellons to Ing's Interval and other places.

Dear Cathy, Linda and John. So sorry for your loss - both parents within months. It shows the love they shared. This was a beautifully written obituary and a loving insight into the life of a wonderful man. I remember fondly our family get-togethers with Uncle Peter and Aunt Gerry. I was so sorry to hear of their passing - it is sad to have the first of the Clarke boys gone. They are all getting on now, but we have wonderful memories to hang on to. I have a doll house and a wall hanging that your dad made - I will always treasure them.

Dear Linda, Cathy and John and families.......We were saddened to learn of your Dad's passing, as well as that of your Mom a short time ago. They were such welcoming neighbours when we moved to Riverview N.B. in 1966 with 4 young children. I believe our children are all close in age to the 3 of you. Your Mom especially was a great comfort and help to me and I remember so well her gentle smile and laugh, and her words of wisdom that I really appreciated hearing. Our children were between the ages of 1 and 6 ....as you probably were too, but your Mom and I somehow still found time to stop for a few minutes during the day to share a cup of tea. Husbands both were busy with work and especially that first summer we sat in the back yards while it seemed like a dozen children played around us. The mothers on our half of the street met once a month in each other's homes to socialize . It was a good time with many good memories. We didn't keep in touch as your family moved on to other areas, but I will always have such good memories of the first summer in Riverview. We know you will have many, many good memories too. Please accept our sympathy for your loss. Marge and Robert Sharpe ...........kids...Sherry, Kathy, Mike and Steve

Helen posted a condolence
Hi I did not know your dad personally but every time I seen him he reminded me of my dad as my dad also had a massive stroke on the same side as your dad. I use to see your dad slowly but with great determination as he walked up the Queen St hill but I could see he was a man who did not give up. The obituary was wonderfully written. I am sure your mom was waiting with open arms for him. May he R.I.P. Sincerely Helen Flanagan Pate
