Obituary of William Charles Spearin

William “Bill” Charles Spearin passed away suddenly on August 6, 2020 at the age of 77. Loving husband of Phyllis (nee Carr), married on Sept. 15, 1967. Beloved father of Crystal Spearin (Jim Sedley), Kelly Wiffen (Rob) and Candace McEwan (Mark). Proud grandfather of Sam, Billie, Luke (Shauna), Brady (Julie), Bailey, Carly (Josh) and Rourke. Brother of Bob, Glenn (Patti), Don and brother-in-law of Anne Swinkels (Mike) and Bill Carr. Bill will be remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends including special friends Rob and Cathy Taylor. Predeceased by his parents James and Jean (nee Douglas) and in-laws Ina and Ken Pickel, brother-in-law Henry Swinkels and sisters-in-law Marg Spearin and Lynn Carr.“Wilbur” worked on his family mink farm for most of his life, ending his career at Shur Gain. He was an active member of the community, and enjoyed the social opportunities from being a Life Member of the St Marys Kinsmen club, coaching baseball and being a member of the “436” club. Bill loved sports. He played basketball and hockey in his early years but did not retire from baseball until he was in his 60’s. Bill loved watching his grandchildren play baseball, hockey and ringette. Phyllis and he enjoyed many years together where they shared their love of travel to warm destinations, live music and socializing with many great friends. .Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program, St. Marys (store #091).
