Obituary of Catherine Jariett
Catherine Jariett, (Shepley) passed away suddenly at her home in Stratford on January 10, 2020 at the age of 60.In her youth she enjoyed her time spent on a sequence of family farms making friends with cats and cattle alike. During this time, she developed a skill that would eventually be passed to her kids; the ability to read an animals personality, and assign it a name befitting. There was “Bartholomew Be-snoot-worthy”, the cat, and “Sucky” the Steer to name a couple. After university she was hired as a clerk communicator at the Stratford Police Department, where she worked for more than 30 years. She took so much pride in her work and was a force to be reckoned with. Her first priority was always looking after her platoon and safely navigating them through the shift. These were the glory years. Her years answering horrific 911 calls and several personal tragedies eventually took a toll on her health. She pre-tired and eventually retired to her Apartment. She is survived by her daughter Rhiannon Foley, and her husband Gord of St. Marys, son Kelsey Shepley of Mississauga. Proud Bumma of Neva Jane Foley. She also leaves behind her sister, Jennifer Jariett and her family of Mississauga. Daughter of Patricia Jariett. Predeceased by her brother Howel Jariett, and her Father Lyall Jariett.Cremation to take place. Visitation at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Friday January 17th from 7 – 9 p.m.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation.
