Dear Barbara, Bill and David, Very sad news - the end of an era. We have very fond memories of your Mother's delicious meals, and your Dad's puns, at your homes in London and Granton. They were always welcoming hosts and so much fun! And such good friends to my parents. Our thoughts are with you. Peggy (Keefe) and David Morgan

To the Gilday Family Joan and Bill were amazing neighbours. Doug and I spent a great deal of time, sitting with them on the patio, watching Justin and Emma ride their bikes. They were so kind to me after Doug passed, and welcomed Christopher, with open arms. I have many fond memories of working for them. I especially liked helping to get food ready and serving their guest for the many cocktail parties they would have. I think of them often when I pull out one of Joan's recipes, or when I look at my bulbs blooming in my garden, that they gifted me. Their generosity to myself and my family will never be forgotten. It was a pleasure to spend time with them both. With condolences, Glenna

Joan was on top of the situation whether for herself or acting for friends. And, such a great friend indeed. And such a gracious lady to her friends’ children, plus showing the right dose of tolerance and patience when needed. A wake-up phone call to those neglectful children as needed. Best, Joan was a foodie who loved a good drop of wine.

We will certainly miss Joan and her fantastic sense of humour at Wildstone. She was a bright light every time she was in and always was refreshingly honest with her comments. Our condolences to Joan's family.
