Obituary of Harry Anthony Weersink

September 27, 1931 – October 6, 2019It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Anthony Weersink on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the age of 88. Loving husband of Annie Weersink for 61 years. Proud father of Alfons (Maureen), Gerald (Deborah), Rosemary (Doug), Robert (Susan) and Jeff (Janet), and loving grandfather of 17 grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Rose and Annie and by brothers Gerrit, Everit, and Jan.Born in Vasse, Netherlands, Harry immigrated to Canada and settled outside of St. Marys in 1958. A loving Husband, Father and Opa he was a dedicated community member and proud to be Canadian.Special thanks to Dr. Davis and Dr. Shultz for their care and compassion as well as the nursing staff at both St Marys Memorial Hospital and Kingsway Long-term Care 2nd floor.Visitation will be held at Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys (519-284-2820), on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at HOLY NAME OF MARY PARISH, Northeast corner of Peel St. N. and Widder St. E., St. Marys on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery. Reception following in the Holy Name of Mary Parish Hall.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: Huntington Society of Canada.
