Obituary of Joseph Ernest Ropp

Joe Ropp, a selfless, tolerant and humble man who only saw good in people, passed away April 23, 2021 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital at age 75.Joe valued the simple things in life like cuddling babies, puttering in his gardens, and sharing a cigar and beverage on the dock with friends (unless it was his last IPA). His loss of mobility as a young father never limited his will to continue working with Bell Canada, tackle DIY projects and travel. With assistance from family and friends, he and Cheryl visited and enjoyed the cultures of many international destinations. Always present to support his sons’ athletic and academic endeavours, he continued the same tradition with his grandchildren.Loving son of the late Ervin & Eleanor Ropp. Forever loved husband and friend of Cheryl. Proud and beloved dad of sons and daughters-in-law, Kurtis & Katerina and Jaden & Carolyn. Precious Papa of Anna, Justin, Nichola, Erik and Ashton. Loved and never forgotten by sister Diane Berger and husband Larry, sister-in-law Rhonda Kendall and husband Ralph, brother-in-law Kevin Lohr and mother-in-law Pearl Lohr. Much cherished uncle of Trena, Teresa, Tara, Tyler and Sterling and their sweet families.Over the years, Joe has received exceptional care from many dedicated professionals. Special thanks to Drs. Gatfield and Schiedel and the staff at the St. Marys Medical Clinic and all the wonderful nurses, doctors and personnel who tenderly cared for Joe recently at Memorial Hospital and UH.
