Obituary of John Robert Conway

John Robert Conway P.Eng., of Thorndale, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Hospital on Oct. 28, 2017 at the age of 74.Husband of Helen Marie (Uren) for 51 years. Father of Robert “Bob” Russell and his wife Linda (Yovanovich), Brian Andrew and his wife Denise (Wakem). Loving Grandpa of Gracie Anne and Emma Marie. Brother of Keith Caverhill Conway and his wife Dianne, brother-in-law of John Herbert Uren and his wife Rev. Janet and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Robert “Bert” Anderson Conway and Grace Doris Caverhill. John graduated from the University of Western Ontario with his Bachelors of Engineering Science, worked for Delcan, taught Civil Engineering at Fanshawe College in London for 35 years and operated Conway Stump Removal for 24 years. His family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Bob Davis, Dr. Scott Ernst, Dr. Patrick Luke, Dr. Faisal Rehman, nurse Joanne of the Parietal Dialysis Clinic and all their teams and thank you to the staff at St. Marys Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care.Visitation at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the ST. MARYS UNITED CHURCH, 85 Church St. S. St. Marys, on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment in Harrington Cemetery. Lunch to follow in Knox Presbyterian Church in Harrington.Memorial donations may be made to City Art Centre in London Ontario or Browns United Church Operating Expenses.
