Obituary of Leigh Anne Youse

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our beloved Leigh Anne Youse. Leigh passed away peacefully at her home on Friday April 23 in her 53rd year, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.Leigh will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roger Quinn, mother Carol Youse Boyd ( nee Heaman), sister Patti Bell ( Doug), brother Tim Youse ( Karyn), in-laws George and Janet Quinn.Predeceased by her father Jack Youse, and stepfather Bud Boyd. Loved dearly by step sons Ryan Quinn ( Ashley-granddaughter Raelynn), Tyler Quinn, and nieces Helen Bell ( Sam), Heather Baks (Kevin), Olivia Youse, and nephew Johnny Youse.Leigh was raised in Thamesford where she showed at an early age to be a very proficient artist. Her love of all animals, but especially dogs, started as a child and was her lifetime passion. As an adult, hours and hours were spent walking her dog “Roy” at the St.Marys Cemetery where she knew the names of all the other dogs and some of the owners.She was a gentle selfless soul, yet fiercely loyal to family. Her family was her life as she chatted every single day with her mother and her sister. Leigh was happiest at the family gatherings if it included more food than could possibly be eaten, and the largest pickle tray possible. She loved travelling with her husband and family, and her trip to Scotland in 2016 with the Youse clan was a lifetime hi-lite.Leigh enjoyed 80’s rock and roll, concerts, being a grandma, good restaurants, retail therapy, and certainly gardening. Her nurturing way resulted in her being the leaning post for many. She never had a sharp word for anyone and preferred to have a fun day, every day. She touched so many people in so many ways with her kindness.Leigh worked many years as the Pre-Press Manager at the Stratford Beacon Herald Newspaper where she enjoyed many close friendships.The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by Dr. Karen Hahn and the support team of the London Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. Adam Maruscak, Dr. Anton Skaro, and Dr. Jon Schiedel. We also wish to thank Dr. Thomas, Alicia Pilcher, and the entire LHIN team for their kindness and support.Additionally, the ongoing support of family, friends, and neighbours with countless porch deliveries and words of encouragement over the past 4 1/2 years has been tremendous and appreciated.Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (for Colon Cancer research) or a charity of your choice.Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held. A “Celebration of Life” will take place once it is safe to have family and friends together.
