Obituary of Alfred Carl Ruthig

Alfred Carl Ruthig, RT October 10, 1927 – November 2, 2020 Predeceased by parents Charles Alfred and Marion Elizabeth (Bailey) Ruthig and his brother Louis Lyons Ruthig. Loving husband of Anita Maria (Schauderna) Ruthig; devoted father of Ingrid Ruthig (Peter Hartke), Monica Ruthig (Jerome Smith), Elke Ruthig (John Ewasick); proud grandfather of Perrin and Claire Hartke and Jared Ewasick.Carl was born and raised in St. Marys. He established the laboratory at St. Marys Memorial Hospital in 1959 and was its Chief Technologist for 33 years. He later assisted in the design of the town hospital’s new laboratory facility. Carl also remained a longstanding member of the Crumlin Sportsmen Association.A private family funeral service will be held. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation.
