Obituary of Derek Parker

It is with deepest sadness in our hearts to announce that our beloved Derek Parker, 85, died peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2017 after struggling with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, in St. Marys Ontario.Derek was born on July 22, 1932 in Wolverhampton England. He is survived by his loving daughter Angela Giambalvo (Otto); cherished and adored grand-daughters Jessica Nafziger (Chris), Sarah Nafziger (Seth), and Katelyn Giambalvo of St. Marys; loved brother of Brian Parker (Sally) of Coven, England, sister Phyllis Pardoe (Parker) of Brixham Devon England; and lifelong friend Ellen Parker.Funeral Services will be privately held at Hodges Funeral Home in St. Marys. Cremation and Celebration of life to follow with immediate family and friends.Many thanks to the caring staff at Wildwood Nursing Home for taking good care of our beloved father and Papa. Forever he will sing in Heaven with a “cuppa” tea and sweets.Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada who helps fund Dementia Friends Canada that provides support to families with loved ones that have dementia.
