Ray and Connie Venturin posted a condolence

It was our good fortune to live for a time in Kirkton and get to know and be friends with Gerald, Norma, Leon, Shirley and many other fine people in the Kirkton/Woodham area. Those two Paul Brothers, along with Shirley on the keyboard, were an enduring, endearing musical comedy act - personable , fun, entertaining and smart. Gerald was also a WWII military veteran and we thank him, again, for his service to our country. Rest in peace, good man. Our deepest sympathies are extended to Norma, Terri, Stephen, the Grandkids and all other relatives and friends. Ray and Connie Venturin

We are so sad to hear about the passing of Gerald. He was such a wonderful person that made an impact on so many people. It’s difficult to think of him without smiling and remembering something humorous that he said or did! A highlight of our lives was when “The Paul Brothers and Shirley” entertained at our theatre. Even though we shared the stage with them hundreds of times, we would still laugh at their silly jokes and songs at each show. How remarkable that after all of these years, we still have people asking about them and sharing their memories of this remarkable trio! There will never be an act to ever come close to this amazing group of entertainers. As well, there will never be anyone to ever replace them in our hearts. “Duck” was someone that you could sit and talk to for hours. There was always a story to tell and a lesson to be learned. He had such a love for his family. There was never a time that he wouldn’t share the latest on what Terri or her family were up to or his admiration for his beautiful wife, Norma. He was the greatest “Astro-nut” in history! So, it is with great sadness that we must say good-bye to someone so special. May your abundance of memories give you strength in the days to come.
