I've got a million memories of you Dave...they're all flooding back to me at this moment. Like the time we snuck into the Quarry at midnight jumping the fence to go for a swim or the time you needed help on Christmas day squeezing a new pool table from Santa through a basement window (got in trouble for that one) or cramming as many people as we could into a small car for a trip to London for a movie followed by Mothers Pizza! I close my eyes and I can hear the laughter and I'm so glad I was part of your life! We'll meet again some day my friend and this time there will be no cops kicking us out of the quarry...until then Mike Hicks

Brian and I send our heartfelt sympathy to all of David’s family. Our parents were friends in the past but we got to know him at Wildwood when Mom, (Ruth) was living there. It was always a pleasure to talk with Dave who was such an interesting conversationalist and so knowledgeable about many things. Whenever we saw him he spread his good humour around. I’m sure you will all miss him. Kathy (Dunsford) Coleman

Dear Vivian, Ian, Alex and extended Ball family, My condolences/ prayers for you in the passing of your brother David, uncle and friend to all. Any time I saw him, he had a smile on his face. He knew how to brighten someone’s day. The glorious hope of the resurrection fills us with God’s supernatural peace. In John 11:25, Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me even though he dies yet shall he live and he who lives and believes in Me will never die”

My condolences go out to the entire Ball Family. I have great memories of Dave, Viv and Laurie in particular. I knew every inch of the Ball house and was thankful for my time in the family. Sleep-overs and pancake breakfasts were fun. Dave and I rode our bikes all over St. Marys during our youth. We spent time even "putting to press" a small newspaper which we formed in his basement. We enjoyed many a summer day together along the Thames searching for salamanders or getting our boat oars tangled in the lily pads of Rice Lake. "Viv" was a great sister with a witty sense of humor and Laurie even backed my Volkswagen into cement post when we life-guarded at the Quarry! But at the heart of it all was my time spent with Dave, whether we played, explored or talked about out future. Rest well, Dave. Dr. Mathew McIntosh Hagerstown, Maryland USA

David was an adventure from the get-go. One of the top students at St.MDCVI that I have ever witnessed. He was effortless in his ability to gain those top marks. Translation: I never say him work at school, ever. His true talent shone in his brilliant, imaginative humour. We laughed our way through cafeteria lunches, walks to and from school, and tried to hold it together in classes as he lampooned the teachers. His goal was to write for National Lampoon, no kidding. He told me this, and he had all the ability to do the job, no kidding. ... but, Dave’s goals where more dreams that actualities. No matter, his imagination and viewpoint, with that unique humour, will always be treasured.

Dear Vivian and family, Ian and Alex: We have fond memories of playing as children at the Wilma and George Ball home. Recalling how David, a brilliant fellow, met with such challenges in later adult life. May he be at peace and free with new energy and possibilities.
