I was in the Hospital and shared the room with Don August 17th to 22nd. It was my privilege to visit and spend time with him in a few of his remaining days here on earth. I didn't know him before but I lived and farmed all of my life in Hibbert TWP. so had a lot to talk about. We became friends. I told him that I was a Christian and because I accepted Jesus as my savior that the bible says Jesus died for my sins and I was promised that I would go to heaven when I died. I told him that I wanted to see him there when I go there. He accepted Jesus as his savior when we prayed together. We shared some tears of joy together. I have a new friend and I am going to see him when I am done here on earth. To his family. This is where your Dad, Grand father and Great grand father is with no more pain and suffering.

What a beautiful smile! We didn’t really know Don but if his picture is any indication of his character he must of been a wonderful man. Our sincere condolences to his family.

May your loving memories of time spent with Don and Blondie be a comfort to family members and friends at this time! Don was an exceptional man and his devotion to the Toronto Blue Jays through good times and bad was unforgettable. I sure learned a lot about baseball from watching a game with him. Don and Blondie were very close, and I like to think they are still together now. I will miss them both, as will may others in St. Marys.
